How do I hook up my comcast coaxial tv box to a monitor that only has hdmi ports?

I get free cable with my business, but I have a coaxial cable coming from my wall, but I only have a Samsung monitor (no speakers) that doesn't have a coaxial cable barrel port on the back. The TV is 50 ft away downstairs and the modem is upstairs. How do I hook it up?

Business Class - move service within building - how?

Our service is in an old downtown warehouse-type building in Minneapolis and pre-dates me, and those who arranged the service are no longer around. We need to move our data closet to a different floor of the building, and I don't know if running new coax is something we would contract out ourselves, or if that is something Comcast/Xfinity installers would need to do?

 

We will eventually be vacating the existing floor, so it's not a matter of running an extension from there to the new floor; a new run from wherever the service enters the building or demarcs, likely in the basement, is probably required. This isn't like an apartment building or newer office building, there is no installed coax infrastructure. 

 

I don't have a lot of time to call around different numbers to explain this five times and hope to find the answers, so I hope someone here can give me good advice.

I just had cable installed at my business yesterday 1/15/19. Is it reasonable to ask comcast to install a shroud or raceway to cover the stuff poking out of the ground and the wire entry point? A piece of 3-inch raceway and a few masonery screws should be all thats needed. This is not the best neighborhood and I don't want my shiny new cable to get vandalized.

Office Closing

We are in the process of closing our office. I'm trying to identify ownership of a Comcast provided modem/router. I think we may have an ARRIS telepony modem/router for one of our associates. I'm wondering if I can get some assistance from Comcast in identifying the owner?

Business Gateway will not accept password

Hello,

 

I logged into my business gateway a few minutes ago to reboot it. We had a service outage and I was checking that things were up locally. When the gateway came back online, it would not accept the password that I used a few minute earlier. What can I do to reset it?

Disable Public WiFi Hotspot on Cisco Modem

I'm posting this on behalf of a customer of our MSP.

 

They got a new business class router/AP this fall.

 

Since then they've repeatedly seen their WiFi end up "disabled" without any manual intervention. In going thru the logs for the past 90 days I've found some entries that don't seem to make sense in the day or so running up to losing the WiFi.

 

The system entires look like this:

Adding a range extender

My buisness recentky changed over to Comcast Business. I would like to add a wifi range extender so the back of the warehouse has wifi. We have a gateway (Model DPC3941B). I noticed the gateway login page has an option for devices. I would like to know what is the best extender to use that can accommodate 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. Thanks for any help!

Hello all,

 

I have a DPC3941B with 5 static ips. I would like to set up a VPN tunnel to a remote location using a pair of Cisco RV042 routers running in gateway to gateway mode but I'm NOT a VPN expert. The DPC3941B is plugged into a 16 port switch for the LAN. I am trying to understand the best way to physically connect the VPN router.

Do I use TWO cables and plug the RV042 LAN port & WAN port (set to one of my public IP's) into the switch?

Am I better off using NAT or configuring the RV042 WAN port with one of my public IP's?

Port Forwarding for Static IPs?

I have a static ip 5 pack on a DPC3941B. My static ip range is xxx.xxx.xxx.209 through 213 plus 214 used by the gateway. If I use Advanced->Port Forwarding it will only forward ports incoming on the 214 address. Is there a way to do a (similar) Port Forwarding on the 5 static ips?

Arris SBG6700-AC and Comcast Deluxe 50

Is the Arris SBG6700-AC compatible with Comcast Deluxe 50 business internet?  The Arris, Best Buy, and other sites say that it is; however, Comcast's own site does not list it.  It doesn't appear to list any compatible combination Cable Modem/Wifi products.

Cusadmin password reset - hard reset fails

Hello, 

 

I tried to reset my cusadmin password to the default setting by doing a hard reset (pressing down the reset button button on the back of the router for more than 10 seconds)

 

I've tried this several times but the password is still not reset. I've also power cycled the modem several times. I've done the hard reset while it is off and then when it is on. It still does not default to the original password settings of highspeed or  CantTouchThis.  

 

We know for sure that the router is not getting hard reset because only one of the two bands are showing the 5 and not the 2.4 . 

 

Please can anyone help us do a hard reset properly?

Comcast Business CBR-T bug with internet & online LED

Unexpectedly Internet and Online lights (LED) on my modem Comcast Business CBR-T are off, connection is working fine. This happened 3 times over a month. Seems like a bug in CBR-T. If I restart the modem lights are back on.
